How to Get Baby Smooth Skin

ADVERTISEMENTS

It is important have healthy, smooth skin. You can have healthy, smooth skin by protecting your self from sun exposure, practicing good hygiene, moisturizing your skin and starting a healthy diet. You can also get smooth skin by avoiding detrimental habits such as excessive smoking and stress.

1. Fortify yourself from the sun. The sun's powerful rays break down the collagen and elastin proteins in the skin. This causes wrinkles to develop on the skin. Avoid being exposed to the sun during the peak daylight hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you have to go outdoors during the peak daylight hours, wear protective clothing and sunscreen that will protect you from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays

2. Practice good hygiene. Wash your face and your skin regularly with soap and clean warm water. Be very gentle when you wash your skin. Avoid using strong soaps and limit bathing time. Strong soaps and hot water can remove vital oils from your skin. Shave your skin gently. Use shaving creams and gels before shaving and shave in the direction the hair is growing.

3. Moisturize your skin. The type of moisturizers you use depend on the current conditions of your skin. If you have normal skin, use a well-balanced, water-based moisturizer that has lightweight oils. If you have sensitive skin, use a moisturizer that does not contain chemicals you are allergic to. If you have dry skin, use oil-based oil moisturizers that have propylene glycol to keep your skin moist.

4. Begin a healthy diet. Drink a lot of fluids. Water is an essential factor of skin health. The American Skin Association recommends drinking about eight glasses of water each day. It is also important to get the right vitamins and nutrients. The American Skin Association recommends taking increments of vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin B1 to keep the skin healthy.

5. Start a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excessive stress. Stress can cause habits that hurt the skin. Excessive rubbing, lip-biting, and scratching can cause dermatitis. It is also important to avoid smoking. Smoking can cause more wrinkles to develop on your face

How to Prevent Dry Skin and Keep Your Skin Hydrated

ADVERTISEMENTS

We as a malaysian can easily get dry skin due to the weather and we are under the air-cond for long hours.. so here is what you can do to prevent it..

Instructions

  1. Drink adequate amounts of water. drink 2000 to 3000 ml of water everyday. You lose moisture during the course of your day due to exertion and exposure to the sun. Replenish moisture by drinking fluids such as water.
  2. Avoid drinks that make you pass urine frequently. Drinks that do this are called diuretics and examples are coffee, caffeinated beverages, alcohol and carbonated drinks.
  3. Avoid taking long hot showers or baths. Instead take a short shower or bath with warm water. Hot water dries your skin out and robs it of moisture.
  4. Protect your skin from the elements, like the sun and the cold. Put on clothing to cover most of your skin, hats to shield your face and sunglasses for your eyes. Apply moisturizers with sun protection such as spf.
  5. Avoid skin care products that dry your skin and make it dehydrated. use gentle cleansers to keep you skin clean. Use exfoliative skin care products on your skin and moisturize your skin after all your skin care activities.

Wearing concealer

ADVERTISEMENTS

Concealer can be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on how you apply it. Here's how to get it just right.

What are concealers for? Do I really need one? Why do they make all those funny coloured green, pink and lilac things? How can I cover circles without making it look worse than when I started? Simmer down. All will be revealed - and then I will show you how to conceal it all again!

One of the most common errors is in the selection of a colour. I personally suffer from dark shadows that have garnered comments like 'What happened to your eyes?' and 'Hang on, you've smudged something under your... oops, sorry, did you get in a fight?' It really gets the day off to a fantastic start I can tell you.
The problem those of us with really dark circles have is that we want to cover them completely, so we head straight for the lightest colour we can find. Wrong! The darker the circle, the darker the concealer should be. If you try to cover with something light, you'll have the end result of a muddy ashen smudge that's not much better than what you started with.

Dark shadows
Always test the colour of a concealer OVER your foundation. If the effect is invisible, you have the correct shade. If you insist, you could drop one shade for dark circles but you will have to be much more cautious with your application. White rings under your eyes look just as bad as dark ones.
To keep things as natural as possible, apply your foundation first and then top up the cover on only the inner half of the under eye. This way if you have the beginnings of fine lines, you are not adding weight to the outer half and showing off the problem.

You will get the most natural cover with a brush. Any old lip brush will do the trick. You have much more control with a brush than you have with your fingers.
If you prefer to use your finger, opt for your ring finger, as it is weaker and will apply less pressure to the delicate skin.

If it starts to look too heavy, apply a tiny bit of your eyecream over the top to wash it down a bit.
You can mix the concealer, if it is too heavy, with some eyecream and make it a 'treatment' concealer.

Bags & puffiness
Puffs and bags are much harder to cover; it is far easier to draw attention away from them.
Again using a brush (once you have applied your foundation), paint a slightly lighter concealer into the dip under the bag. The best products for this have light-diffusing particles. The effect is that you want to bounce the shadow under the eye-bag away. Heavy concealer will always make bags look worse.
When you are desperate, you can resort to the make-up artists' trick of using a touch of haemorrhoid cream to reduce the swelling temporarily. Please only do this if you are in a state of desperation. It really works, but shouldn't be done often.

Red nose and cheeksIf you have ever tried a green colour corrector, you know that it usually looks worse then the red did! Sure it cancels out the red, but then your face looks like cement and you have to use an even heavier foundation to cover that up.

There is a little miracle product by Decleor called Perfecting Tint, which is a sheer green gel that you can apply both under and/or over the foundation. It also helps to thicken and strengthen the capillaries to make them less visible.

You can also try Shiseido's excellent Colour Control Stick which can be worn under, over or even without concealer or foundation.

If using a colour corrector, apply the smallest amount possible, then apply your foundation. Once that has set, once more apply the tiniest amount of the colour corrector. You will find the effect is much more natural when you do fine layers that if you try to do it all in one whack.

If not using a colour corrector, apply your foundation as per normal. Then, using a concealer that you've tested over the foundation, apply nearly dried concealer over the foundation in light patting strokes. You can achieve this by dabbing the concealer onto the heel of your hand until it is nearly dry, and then apply it to your face. The reasoning behind this is that if the product is too wet, you will remove any cover you have achieved with the foundation. Then reapply a bit of foundation in the same way.
Always work in layers when covering excess redness. It is better to stay in control than to pile it on. Once you have gotten the desired effect, rub your hands together really fast until you feel a build-up of heat. Then, press your hands over your cheeks for about 5 seconds. What you will achieve is the same effect as letting your makeup settle for a while before leaving the house. It will give you what you normally have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for naturally!

Tips from the catwalk
When you are truly desperate and puffy, haemorrhoid cream can be applied very thinly to the eye area to reduce extreme puffiness. It also helps with jawline contours and overall puffiness. This is not an everyday solution. This is for cases of emergency, but I don't know many make-up artists or models that don't carry a tube.

If a terrible spot arrives at exactly the wrong time (is there ever a right time?), don't fight nature and cake concealer all over it. Instead, use an eyeliner and turn it into a beauty mark. It is already raised slightly and looks extremely natural. Only your best friends will know.

Colour correctorsHere's a quick guide to colour corrector/enhancers so you get that all-important match:
Green: Cuts and tones down redness
Apricot: Brightens cooler skin tones
Peach: Brightens cooler skin tones
Rose: Lifts sallow complexions and gives a glow
Lilac: Cuts excess yellow in the skin and lifts sallow complexions
Blue: Takes down orangey skin tones, also corrects bad self-tan applications!
Bronze: Brightens and lifts nearly all skin tones. Gives a healthy sun-kissed look
Gold: Accentuates golden skin tones and suntans
Silver: Brightens cooler skins. Usually only done in the evening!
Yellow: Brightens warmer skin tones

Apply make up in 10 easy step

ADVERTISEMENTS

Put your best face forward armed with beauty secrets from cosmetics industry pros. These 10 simple makeup tips are sure to speed up your daily routine with head-turning gorgeous results.
 Things You'll Need:
  • Foundation
  • Mascara
  • Eye Shadow Brushes
  • Blush Brush
  • Face Powder
  • Blush
  • Waterproof Mascaras
  • Lipstick
  • Lip Gloss
  • Eye Shadow
Instructions

1. Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Dot it on over any blemishes or under-eye circles and blend with your fingertips or a makeup sponge. If your concealer tends to cake, apply eye cream first.

2. Choose foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Apply it in dots over the central part of your face, then blend it out with a makeup sponge or your fingertips until it covers your entire face

3. Use a loose or pressed powder to keep foundation and concealer on longer. Use pressed powder to touch up when you're away from home.

4. Do your eyebrows next. Use powdered eyebrow shadow on brows instead of pencil, which can often look unnatural. Apply it with a hard, slanted brush.

5. Choose three colors of eye shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark only to line your upper eyelid, in a fairly thin line along the upper lashes. Use the medium shade for the crease and the lightest shade for the area under the eyebrow. There are many variations on eye shadow application techniques.

6. Apply eyeliner. Use a cake eyeliner with a damp, thin liner brush, or an eyeliner pencil, and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible), or start the line where your lashes begin.

7. Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumpiness. Choose brown mascara if your coloring is fair; black or brown-black works well for darker coloring. Or try a colored mascara such as navy or plum for fun, but don't go too bright if you want to be taken seriously

8. Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and apply blush to the apples or below, whichever you prefer. If you have to blend in blush, it's too bright.

9. Choose a lipstick color that's suited to your skin tone and that's perfect for your day look. You can mix colors and textures to suit your moods and your outfits

10. Line lips after applying lipstick, not before. That way you won't end up with a dark circle of lip liner after your lipstick has worn off. Avoid combining very dark lip liner and pale lipstick.

With the simple steps you can make yourself GLOW ! try it today and see the different..

How To Apply Foundation

ADVERTISEMENTS
Foundation is the basis of many great make up looks. Foundation can help your skin tone appear even and help minimize flaws. A good application can make the difference between a picture-perfect finish and a glamour don’t. We have all seen bad foundation applications on women who look like they are wearing an orange mask or whose faces don’t match their necks. But there is no reason to be intimidated. It is actually quite easy to apply foundation.

Here’s how:
1. Color selection is the first step in avoiding obvious foundation lines. It is best to buy foundation at a store where you can try the colors because it can be very difficult to judge shades based on the package alone. Bring someone with you who you trust to give you an honest opinion about whether or not a shade is right for you. Also, be sure to step outside of the store to see how the color looks on your skin in the sunlight.
Foundation that looks great in the store could look clown-like in natural light.

mac select spf 15 foundation nc20

2. Begin with well-hydrated skin for even coverage. Moisturize your face and let it sink in for about five minutes.

3. Pour a very small amount of foundation onto your fingertips and dot onto your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin.

4. Using a damp cosmetic sponge, blend each dot outward until all areas of the face are covered. You can apply a little more if needed. After you are satisfied with the results, take your sponge or brush and blend the line where the foundation ends one more time around the perimeter of your face to ensure that no visible lines remain.

5. Dust with loose powder to help set the foundation in place.

6. Check your face in natural light to make sure everything is blended nicely.
Foundation doesn’t have to be scary to apply or look bad. If you’re not confident in your technique, practice before applying the rest of your makeup so that you can wash it off and start over if you aren’t happy with the results.

My Recommendation of liquid foundation :
This is the body shop liquid foundation that cost +/- RM60.. It is animal tested and it control oils on your face. I been using this for quite sometime.. I would consider this as a good product compared to those liquid foundation that I bought which cost me atlease RM150.. Not only that, you have a color range to choose from.. Im using the 04 range color.. Have a try! it is worth it!
